ACA: Project Green Algeria is still very much in the pre-development phase. I'm still mapping out the projects, research and development alliances and strategic partnerships.
I'm almost done with my article on African development and the importance of diaspora networks for ACA's newsletter. I'll post a link to it when it's published. I've been invited to present a paper on Project Green Algeria in Algiers, possibly later this year.
Alice Debbaudt has been extremely busy implementing KIDS GIVE BACK. So far, around fifty Los Angeles area schools have signed up for THE FOOD BANK PROJECT.
I'll post more details about the entire process on www.kidsgiveback.wordpress.com, beginning with the initial idea and the first meetings with VIC (Valley Interfaith Council) food banks. I'm happy to report that we're gaining fast political support at the local level.
I combined my Seed Bank for Project Green Algeria and THE FOOD BANK PROJECT. It made
educational, economic and political sense to do so. Children save seeds
to help subsistence farms and homestead gardens in Africa and they grow
food crops for local food banks, senior centers and homeless shelters.
